nutpods is a deliciously wholesome, dairy-free creamer made from heart healthy almonds and MCT-rich coconuts with a rich and creamy balanced taste.

We believe that there should be an alternative option for the discerning and informed dairy-free coffee creamer user. Unfortunately, most traditional non-dairy and even natural dairy-free coffee creamers can contain many undesirable and artificial ingredients.  Natural creamers can be thin and watery; not rich and creamy. Unlike the existing options, nutpods is free from the following so you can be free to indulge:
-Soy
-Sodium Caseinate (a milk protein)
-Carrageenan
-Artificial flavors, colors and preservatives
-Hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils

For a list of ingredients, please click on the photo of each flavor.

Keep Calm and ENJOY NUTPODS Poster

We did it!

We started our little company with a Kickstarter campaign in October 2013 (www.kickstarter.com Project Name: nutpods) to bring our much anticipated products to the commercial market. Our goal was to raise $30K to release our first delectable flavor, Unsweetened Original. Well, thanks to the generosity of 510 backers, WE DID IT! We were able to actually surpass our goal by $32,164!  The money raised will go towards converting Madeline's kitchen formula into a full-blown commercial formulation.  Funds will also be used on packaging, production and distribution costs.

Thanks to you, our supporters, we will soon be able to transform nutpods into a bona fide commercial production and make our wholesome and deliciously dairy-free creamy pods available to health-conscious coffee and tea lovers everywhere.

Thank you for your support in giving us the privilege to finally bring a more natural and wholesome option to the market!

nutpods is more than the format that we come in.

Some of you have been with us since we launched our business with a Kickstarter campaign.  Others have just recently joined us, and more still came somewhere along the way.  For our original fans, you know that we originally wanted to develop single-serve pods that are shelf stable and don't require refrigeration.  But on the road of formula and then product development, once we conducted additional market research and talked to grocery and other retailers, it became apparent that we needed to re-order our product launch.

1. Grocery retailers told us that consumers would likely buy a box or two of the pods and keep it in their pantry every month, but they would buy a multiple-serving carton of nutpods every week. Grocery stores want more sales per product, so they were more willing to take us in the tetrapak format, and the distributors we spoke to about representing our line agreed.

2. If we had a smaller serving (16oz or less), consumers could still bring them into work since it wouldn't take up much size in the often-shared break room refrigerator.

3.  The production requirements of minimum runs for the two different formats are vastly different.  In broad general terms, the tetrapak format minimum is hundreds of thousands of units.  For the pod format, a few million units.  It simply wasn't feasible to launch with both formats in multiple flavors.

If you take a look at the competitive landscape in the creamer section, there are some very established brands: So Delicious, Silk (Whitewave owns both brands, by the way), and Califia Farms.  But I kept coming back to this:  I really believe that we have a solution that people want. And it is more than just about the format we come in.

We are about giving our consumers the ability to craft their perfect cup of coffee.

We're smooth, rich and creamy; not thin and watery.  Who doesn't wish they could have half and half in their coffee, but without the dairy?

We're unsweetened so you have a choice over your preferred sweetener and sweetness level.

We have a clean label, proudly backed by third party certifications:  non-GMO Project verified, Gluten-Free, Vegan and OU Kosher.  And, you can feel good about not having artificial flavors, colors, carrageenan or soy in your cup.

There is a big difference between an MBA degree (studying about other companies and entrepreneurs) and actually building a company  and putting your time, your life savings, and your reputation on the line.  There is one thing I starkly recall from my education though: companies sometimes have to adapt, or pivot, in order to move forward. To those that are willing to wait for nutpods, we're grateful for your emails, comments and posts of encouragement.  This road to market hasn't been easy. But, we are diligently working hard with you, our consumers, in mind.

Is there any update on if/when a single serve option will be available? I haven’t been able to find one yet that doesn’t contain a lot of the bad stuff.

Single serve minis won’t cool down your coffee like pouring in Nutpods from the refridgerator. Single serve minis sell well in NC, being found in every grocery and grocery/department store.

I think the grocery retailers were really off in their “guess” of what consumers would likely buy or not buy……thinking that we would just purchase a box every now and then if the creamer came in individual sizes. They are inaccurate because a lot of people drink their coffee on the run, while out and about, with no access to a refrigerator. I am one of these people. There is a huge void in the marketplace for individual portable serving size creamers with NO options that are dairy and chemical free. Plus, no one ever puts just one of those little creamers in their coffee. Since each little creamer pod is only about a tablespoon or 2 at the most, it takes me about 4 of them to get the level of cream I like. How fast would a box be used up if a consumer is using 4 pods every day? It might last a week if there are 20 to 25 pods in a box, and that’s if only one person is using it. I would definitely have to buy a box every week. So this is an untapped need in the market that your current size does not fill. I don’t have an urgent need to buy this product until it comes out in the small pod size. I have other options for home use. But the instant you have your product available in small pod size, I am the first new customer and a big promotor.

Another vote for pods! I would love to find these available in my favorite restaurants. I would also carry a few in my purse for “emergencies”. I think you should market the pods to food service as well. The larger size would be great for at home and work. Good luck!

I very much would like to see the single size servings for the same reasons others have mentioned. They make much more sense than the larger sizes. Please make the single size…I will be your customer for life!

There are 6 million people with kidney disease going to the http://www.davita.com/ for their recipes which all call for non-dairy creamers. I found your website because I am not going to use the current non dairy creamers with bad ingredients. Just wanted to let you know that this in itself would be a huge market for you. Cannot wait for your products.

In my defense, I left it on top of the desk, I just didn’t execpt papers to be put on top of the paper plate, un-noticed! I believe it sat there for two weeks?! Next time it will be placed in front of the chair, or even ON the chair!Thank you!!

I cannot imagine a restaurant in the United States that wouldn’t carry the individual pods. I am patiently waiting for the availability of your product. Build your brand awareness through food service distribution, then go into the grocery stores once every diner and restaurant in the North East and rest of the country is carrying your product and recognize it in the isle. Just do it before someone else does :-), I’ve already told my US Food Service aka Cisco Food Distributor about your product, and Dino Macros a local distributor in the hopes that one of them will pick it up.

Yeah, the little single serve packets would SERIOUSLY fill a void in the market. People ask about this all.the.time. There are no single serve options for meetings, restaurants, or travel. It feels so awkward to bust out a little jar (or a full-sized container) of creamer in those circumstances (not to mention that it might spill, go bad, etc). Hopefully you’ll still be able to produce the little ones soon. There is NOTHING else like it on the market.

Either way, can’t wait for the release. I understand the big desire for the pods, and they will be cool when you get to release them, but I’m psyched about the larger container. I only use “creamer” (usually almond milk) at work, so the small container would be great for our shared office mini fridge and would help me get some extra fat in my morning tea. Very excited!

This is my 2nd comment. I am also a plant based nutritionist with many connections of people looking for a non dairy alternative at local coffee shops, etc. and could really help spread the word at these places in a variety of cities.

I have to agree with the others that the nutpods in indiv. serving size are the key for creating something unique that no one has. I am looking for something I can have in my purse or bag and bring to coffee shops. I have already told one of the ones I frequent and they are happy to carry your indiv. serving pods. They don’t go through enough to have the boxes in the refrigerator and are not interested in that—as there are options out there….and they lose money. I know many coffee shops would carry these if they are in the indiv serving size..that could be a huge part of your market! Let us all be the marketing army at these local coffee shops/rest. for you. The other main thing that attracts us all & makes you unique is that you can take them camping, travel with them etc and not have to throw out the rest of the box. I think having both options would be great…as the rich, creamy texture you are creating will be attractive in the bigger size also—but you just have to continue with what attracted so many people and trust that it will explode as it is NO WHERE else to be found! :) thanks for all you are doing!

I was looking forward to the nutpods for the reason others have stated – being able to drink coffee at restaurants, hotels, while traveling, and at other places that don’t offer dairy free creamers. I’m still excited about your product and will try it at home once it’s out. But I will be waiting patiently for the pods to come out!! Thanks and good luck!

Nooooo. Very disappointed about the nutpods. Unique and so helpful for the health conscious and allergy sufferers. JUST waisted half of a single serve carton of almond milk today carrying it to a location.

W are a small restaurant and really would like to use your creamer for serving our coffee. However, we don’t serve enough coffee in a week to use a full 11oz before it spoiled in the refrigerator, so we are really hoping for the single serving pods that we can give to our coffee customers with each cup!

Congrats on taking the next step! This sounds like a great foot in the door with the grocery stores! Perhaps this will help you sell the pods in the future : ) I’ll be on the lookout – I’ve been looking forward to taking the individual serving size on camping trips.

I, too, am disappointed the single serve containers will not be out. That concept is what attracted me to begin with – the option of taking them to a restaurant – since there are no other options on the market. I’ve just learned to drink my coffee and tea without creamers but was sure looking forward to them.

I am so disappointed that you are not doing the single serving size…that was the unique quality about you….now you will just be another non dairy creamer at the grocery store…I already have one I like so won’t likely make the switch…PLEASE go back to the orginial idea and make the single serving size…I agree with the other two comments …especially about going to resturants etc and not being able to buy a coffee….bummer…but..I do wish you the best of luck

I hope you will still eventually come out with pods. I travel a lot on business, and/or go out to dinner, and sadly there are still relatively few restaurants that offer soy, almond or coconut milk. That means I can not order a coffee after dinner, or have coffee at a break at a meeting or conference. With pods, I could just bring my own creamer along and enjoy! Today there are non-dairy creamer options, as you mentioned, and if my hotel room has a refrig, I pick one up for my morning coffee, but pods would be truly unique. Good luck with your launch.
